The library offers students and faculty the opportunity to borrow materials not currently owned by the library through the use of two web-based methods, E-ZBorrow and Tipasa.
E-ZBorrow is a web gateway that allows simultaneous searching of academic library catalogs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia. Using your Misericordia ID number, you can search the catalogs of over 60 academic libraries for books that you want and then place requests yourself. It’s fast and there are no charges incurred when books are returned on time. Books are usually loaned for a period of three weeks with the chance for a one-time renewal before the due date. Materials are picked up and returned at the Circulation Desk. Always check Misericordia’s library catalog first for the availability of desired materials. Click on the E-ZBorrow icon to place a request.
Patrons will be assessed a fine of $.25 per day for items not returned by the due date. A processing fee of $10.00 will be added to the replacement cost of materials that are lost or returned damaged.

The library uses a web-based interlibrary loan system (Tipasa) to facilitate processing your requests. To utilize this system, you will need to set up a web-based account using your username and password. This is the same username and password that you use to access e-MU and your Misericordia email.
Interlibrary loan requests will be submitted through this web-based system for articles, books and DVD’s. You will receive articles through Article Exchange. Requests for books and videos submitted through Tipasa are available for pick up at the Circulation Desk.
Generally, there is no fee associated with interlibrary loan. However, some libraries may charge for lending materials. When submitting your request, be aware there are fees from non-reciprocal libraries for materials usually $10- $15. The interlibrary loan staff will contact you concerning fees before the article is processed.
