Misericordia University provides all students with a technology help desk whose mission is to provide help and support to students with their technology issues. The helpdesk technicians are Dell Certified and can perform all warranty work on Dell Systems.
Issues reported to the student helpdesk are handled on a first come first serve basis. Issues are resolved as quickly as possible and in most cases within one business day. The Helpdesk addresses Wi-Fi, computer, cellular phone, myMU, email, and Internet issues. First tier support of Blackboard is provided as is escalation to the online learning services department.
The Misericordia University IT Student Helpdesk is available 24x7x365, regardless if the University is officially open or closed. Misericordia has partnered with Pearson to provide after-hours support to all students outside the physical hours that the helpdesk will be open. The Physical IT Student Helpdesk, located in room 25 on the ground level of Mercy Hall at the Misericordia University main campus will augment their hours with this after-hours service to provide coverage. The IT Student Helpdesk will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm when the University is open to provide service to all students. Upon University closures and after-hours students will have the ability to contact our after-hours support for their technology needs. This service has been integrated, where by after-hours support will be able to assist the students in resolving their issues, or when necessary providing the case documentation to the physical helpdesk for further response when it is open. Misericordia will continue to tweak this solution over the fall semester with the focus on striving to best assist the student of our University community.
Students are provided the privilege of internet and network connectivity while they remain a current student of Misericordia University. The students may access the network/Internet via wireless and/or wired connections. The privilege of access for students is governed by several University policies as well as specific IT policies, procedures and guidelines, which are put in place to ensure that IT meets the needs of all participants of the campus network.
